project 48.....making coasters

My brother cut me these hardboard circles years ago.   They have been decorated in many ways over the years.  When the do not look goo anymore, I simply remove the decoupaging and start all over again!

Cover the base with modge podge. Cover it with a layer of spray paint in a colour of your choice(I've used a brush to make a couple of golden splashes on the pictures as well, but its up to you!)......stick your picture or serviette to the surface, and then cover it with about 12 layers of modge podge allowing it to dry between every layer.  Change your direction with every layer when you apply them.  Allow to dry properly before using it, otherwise your cup will stick to the bottom and might take some of your picture with!

Simply wipe them with a we cloth when they are dirty.  The lady who's helping to clean in my house has washed them with the dishes a couple of time, but I won't suggest you doing it!  If it does happen, simply place them in the sun to dry properly before using them again.

When you are tired of the pictures or they go ugly, simply pull off the modge podged layer and start all over again.....
