project 115......potpourri

Zineas and sunflowers have the prettiest colours, and if you take the petals off just as the flowers start to wilt and spread it open on a tray to dry, they keep their colours.

I am not fond of potpourri as it makes me sneeze, but I have made these with the leaves I dried last year, and simply added cinnamon sticks and cloves and dried chillies.....no oils were used as I think that is the culprit of my sneezing.

I've packed it in pretty organza bags and the smell is just great!  Simple, but effective.  This year I want to do it with dried lemon, orange and naartjie peels as well.....
